Hi everybody. I watched this documentary called "After Armageddon" yesterday (which I recommend everybody watch, its was very interesting) and it got me to thinking about the events that have been predicted to happen in 2012. I know that most religious people believe that nobody knows what will happen, and some even claim that it doesn't matter to them, because they are "saved". Well, reality check! Just like nobody knows what will happen, nobody knows who is "saved". I consider myself a religious person. That being said, I don't know what will happen in 2010, BUT I still don't want to die! So, I figured it's best to be prepared. So, I was wondering what my classmates thoughts were on the subject.
1) What do you think will happen (not know, think)? Will mankind come to an end or will most of us just be wiped out, along with some of our vital resources (water, medicine, communication, gas, etc) because of a world wide catastrophe.
2) How will the people who think the world is ending will behave? Will they try to save their soul and run the church, will they act normally and just wait it out, or will the flip out and react violently?
3) If it was just a world wide catastrophe and most of mankind was wiped out with little resources remaining, what would be vital for survival? How would some survivors behave with no authority around? Would it be survival of the fittest? Do you think your in a good position to survive right now, or would/should you relocate? What do you think would be the most difficult obstacle to over come?

They have tons of scientists say that nothing will happen in 2012. Its the same thing that happened 12 years ago, the Y2K scare, not real! I honestly don't think the world is going to 'end' persay. I think we will most likely be hit by a solar flare and die from radiation exposure or an asteroid will hit and destory earth totally. I'm not worried about two years from now, Im worried about the children and young adults who think this is real. There have been people getting depressed over this hoax and wanting to kill themselves or others. If people want a real possible castorphy they need to look up the Apophis asteroid, that is real.
With anything like this, that says the world is going to end, I always look for a scientific perspective. I am a scientist at heart because I find truth in it, unlike hersay when people talk about this subject.
So, you're saying there is no proof of anything, but if you had to call it you would say maybe a solar flare or asteroid. Makes sense to me. You mentioned the asteroid would totally blow Earth away, so I know there wont be any survivors there, but what about that solar flare. Could there be any survivors from that? But you're right. Either way, there will be young and older people who believe something drastic is going to happen and go on a path of destruction. I'm going to check out the Apophis asteroid as well. ReplyDeleteI didn't mean a castorpy would happen on Dec 21, 2012 like a solar flare, I meant it could have anytime. Scientist can't predict certain things like solar flares, a gaint one could happen tomorrow and kill us all! But they can perdict some things like asteroids. A solar flare would do similar, if not way more, destruction then if all nuclear plants on earth melted down simultanesously. That would cause some people to die instantly and others to suffer a painful death days, or months later. But I don't see the sun reacting like that to a certain date on our calendar, that just sounds silly. What I was trying to say that people shouldn't put a date on the 'end of the earth' because it could happen anytime. I think its just a bunch of speculation around this date and thats it.

ReplyDeleteRevelations. I believe the end is coming. But that we really don’t know. As my belief the time is coming and when it does and I die and will be with my family again. I have an Eternal Family Here on Earth. I work at being the best person that I can. No one will be perfect.
